Job Description
A growing manufacturing company in Wadsworth, OH is looking for a Quality Assurance Technician for 1st shift.
A Quality Assurance Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining high standards in the production process. The primary responsibility of a Quality Technician is to investigate and resolve quality issues within the operation, create process improvement and best practice procedures, and communicate these to operators and support personnel to ensure the highest quality product is produced.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Monitoring: Read and interpret production orders, identifying and reporting deviations, defects, or non-conformities.
- Quality Control Procedures: Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures, training materials, and work instruments.
- Root Cause Analysis: Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve recurring quality issues.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and lead efforts in corrective actions, problem-solving, and process improvements.
- Product Inspection: Inspect products and record defects related to printing, coating, die cutting, folder/gluer, and packing operations.
- Communication: Communicate deviations, machine malfunctions, or maintenance needs with operators, supervisors, and relevant personnel.
- Quality Evaluation: Conduct product tests and inspections to assess product quality.
- Customer and Supplier Interaction: Communicate quality-related activities to customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications and Education:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quality Technician.
- Aptitude: Must pass the Bennett Mechanical Aptitude Test.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in basic math and the ability to conduct product quality tests and inspections.
- Strong skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience using measuring instruments, gauges, and testing equipment.
- Ability to problem-solve proactively and address quality issues.
- Knowledge of relevant quality management systems (e.G., ISO 9001: 2015).
