Job Description


We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team and support quoting functions across packaging and print manufacturing. The Estimator is responsible for issuing accurate and competitive customer quotations, analyzing job specifications, and optimizing layouts based on customer-provided dimensions. This individual will also guide other estimators, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in quoting practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Process Requests for Quotation (RFQs) using data from customer service and sales teams

  • Consult with clients, vendors, and internal teams to create and validate estimates

  • Design layouts and product configurations using provided dimensions and specifications

  • Analyze win/loss data on quotes to improve future estimating strategies

  • Update quotes based on changes in materials, processes, or pricing

  • Source non-standard materials (e.G., freight, specialty board) as needed

  • Maintain accurate quote documentation and organized records

  • Determine optimal plant capabilities and job placement based on efficiency

  • Develop and maintain estimating spreadsheets and tools

  • Oversee work completed by other estimators and ensure distribution of workload

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required;post-secondary education preferred

  • Prior experience in printing or thermoforming industry strongly preferred

  • Strong mathematical aptitude and analytical skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software

  • In-depth understanding of print, converting, and manufacturing processes

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Effective communicator with ability to lead and support a collaborative team

  • Comfortable interacting with cross-functional teams and all personality types

  • Ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions independently

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong logic and reasoning to identify strengths/weaknesses of options

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Collaborative leadership style with a focus on accuracy and service

  • Comfortable with data analysis and continuous process improvement
